DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH – The FallFair Arts Festival, presented by The Arts Alliance, celebrates its 11th year of bringing local and regional artists to Cottell Park in Deerfield Township on Saturday, September 17, 2016. The festival will showcase over 50 local and regional juried artists, local performing arts groups, children’s art making tent, community art making project, Mason City Schools student exhibition, The Arts Alliance’s Painters Exhibition, art work auction, and a selection of food and beverages.
The Festival’s home at Cottell Park in Deerfield Township is the perfect backdrop for this free event. With spacious green space, walking paths and playgrounds, Cottell Park is enjoyable for all festival-goers.
Region’s Best Artists
The FallFair Arts Festival will feature this region’s most talented fine artists and craft makers. From painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, wood working, glass and metal work, the artists will display their work in their individual tents on the property of the park. All of their work is for sale.
Performing Arts Throughout the Day
This year, the event will showcase local performing arts groups throughout the day, including the Northern Cincinnati Youth Orchestra, West Chester Silver Strings. Acting Up and the Mason Chorale.
Art Making for Everyone
The festival features a large children’s art making tent, where children and their families can make various projects. This year, the tent is sponsored and overseen by the Cincinnati Art Museum. Guests will also enjoy face painting. All art making projects are free.
The festival also enjoys a community art making project. This year, the community will create three large dragonfly canvases. Hundreds of people will have a hand in creating this beautiful works of art that will be 36×36 each when completed.
Mason City Schools Student Arts
The festival welcomes Mason City Schools K – 12 student art exhibition that will be held in the Arts Alliance Arts Bungalow at Cottell Park. Over 200 works of art will be on display.
Arts Alliance Painters
The Arts Alliance Painters, a local painting group that meets weekly at Cottell Park, will display their work inside the Snyder House. Guests will enjoy over 60 works of art that will be for sale.
Up for Auction
The Arts Alliance will auction “The Icons” paintings this year at the festival. These three paintings depict, Bob Marley, Maya Angelou and Frida Kahlo. The paintings were created by the community at the 2014 FallFair Arts Festival and have since been displayed at various community locations. Each painting is 36×36. All proceeds of the auction will benefit future arts programming of The Arts Alliance.
Chalk Art
This on-site festival feature is a favorite for festival-goers. Guests are welcome to chalk art on The Arts Alliance’s 12 ft. “Doodle” board or chalk on the sidewalks throughout the day.
The Arts Alliance’s FallFair Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cottell Park, 5847 Irwin Simpson Rd., Deerfield Township, Ohio. The FallFair is free to the community. Those who give a $5.00 suggested donation will receive a free tote bag.
